Who Are We?
Dr. Lourra Barthuly has over 20 years of experience with continuing education and direct client care. She is a licensed counselor in both Colorado and Texas. She is an active member of several professional organizations and keeps current in treatment trends. She has founded two counseling agencies and worked with local government and private agencies involving human services, professional development, effective services and community development. She published the children’s book Ouishy Squishy Brain Shop to help address the process of change in children. Her education and experience helps to provide a comfortable and productive learning environment.
Nancy Schmidt is a Counselor and Student Services Coordinator at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards, CO. She has been counseling and advising students at the secondary and post-secondary levels since 1980 and has also taught memoir writing and facilitated creative writing workshops at the college. Nancy has many years’ experience as a Mediation Practitioner and Restorative Justice Facilitator and has designed programs and delivered training in both fields. She holds an M.S.Ed in Counseling from Hofstra University in New York.
